Justice Needs No ZimmerFrame
Written and Directed by Jack Monk

My Role: Editor & Colourist

The story follows Chuck Miller aka StopWatcher, a 40 year old real life 'Superhero' who cant seem to let go of his past. He feels it is his one and only duty to protect the streets he was bought up on. After constantly being unappreciated and ridiculed by his community, all he wants is admiration and respect from the people he fights for. He finds himself being followed by an aspiring journalism student who feels his "comical" story should be shared with the world.

This short film was my first and only opportunity as a full editor on a short film that wasn't my own. I reveled in the creative freedom I had once every shot was in place. From the colour grading to transitions, choice of some angles in some scenes and the credits and cuts. Once I had a very rough and basic edit down of visuals it then came to putting sound on. It was then I realised some of the sound we had from the set were either missing or unusable.

After doing some additional voice overs and sound effects in the studio I had more than enough to work with! Hours of rummaging and sorting the sound clips I felt I was finally that next step to completing the film.

The amount of days and hours, patience and detail, control and concentration that finally went in to the editing proves that it's all worth it when you see a final product and get even that one good reaction from the film.
